Chocolate Chip Cookies
Recipe From: Field Guide to COOKIES
Yield: About 2 dozen cookies
ingredients:- 1&1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup softened unsalted butter (Room Temperature)
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1 egg (Room Temperature)
- 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup (6 oz) chocolate chips
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line several cookie sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
- Sift the flour, baking soda, and salt into a bowl and set aside.
- In a stand mixer, cream butter and sugars on medium speed for several minutes until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla and mix until combined.
- Add the flour mixture, and mix on low speed just until combined; add the chocolate chips, and mix until evenly distributed.
- Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto cookie sheets about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, rotating sheets halfway through. Cool sheets on wire racks for a few minutes before transferring cookies directly onto wire racks with a spatula to finish cooling.
